Experience

Maria started her career in the travel tech industry as an Account Manager. As both an Argentinean and Italian national, she joined Latin America’s largest OTA – Despegar.com – to then move to Booking.com. In 2013 she decided that she wanted to finally fulfil her dream to move to Europe and travelled first to Italy, before settling in London.

Even though she enjoyed the client-facing and relationship-building aspects of her previous roles, she was curious about other areas of business management. She joined Canary Wharf Management Ltd in 2014 to work in her first HR-related role, where she realised she very much enjoyed it and wanted to make it her career.

In 2016 she moved to Barcelona and returned to the travel tech environment, where she joined Caravelo – a tech company that builds software for the travel industry – to help them in their next face of growth. She was initially in charge of their recruitment practice and then moved on to head their whole HR strategy. She was responsible for taking their HR department to the next level, by implementing HR tech, designing and documenting polices and processes, compensation and career development mapping, among other things.

After returning to London in 2019, she joined LACE Partners to do what she enjoys the most: HR Transformation & Tech.

Qualifications:

*AIHR Academy – Diploma in HR Data Analytics

*Devskillers – Tech Recruitment Certified Professional

*CIPD Level 7 in Human Resources Management qualification (in progress)

Successfully completed 55% of a BSc in Economics from UNED University in Spain before putting it on hold to focus on career specific learning and development.
