Challenges

Business need to move from a centrally managed on premise Oracle eBusinessSuite product to a Cloud hosted software as a service (SAAS) SAP SuccessFactors product.

The current operations service delivery model relied on older technology and lacked the tools to operate as a “shared services business”. There was no efficient mechanism for employees and managers to contact HR, with the business relying on personal relationships to raise HR queries, as well as manual processes led to duplication and some double-keying.

Data and reporting were a challenge with few measurements in place to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the HR services.

How LACE helped

‘As is’ technology assessment:
Using insights and industry expertise we helped to design the ‘to be’ technology landscape.

Technology selection:
Running the selection process alongside client procurement team and helped them through SAP contract negotiations was a key factor in the support approach.

Developed system integrators (SI) request for proposal (RFP):
Facilitating the RFP process and SI selection for the client to ensure the best fit for their business model.

Defined HR shared services operating model:
Identifying the appropriate Cloud support model with agreed scope, governance, customers and channels.

Employee experience journeys:
Detailing journeys to define how the future organisation would deliver an uplift in employee experience.

Methodology, knowledge and tools:
Building the internal capability to help client get ready for the Cloud

Defined key strategies to inform implementation:
mapping out the data migration strategy, reporting and analytics strategy and legacy system and offboarding strategy

Target operating model (TOM) design for Talent Acquisition and Shared Services teams:
Working with the TA lead to analyse and assess processes, RPO position and external vendor service provision.

What we learnt

  • In the regulated environment increased time is needed in the planning including internal audit and Bank risk in the stakeholders
  • Embrace an employee centric approach to drive values for your employees
  • Strong leadership alignment and buy in is key
  • Focus on the outputs and the insight requirements early to determine the must haves of the implementation.
