With Europe at the epicentre of the current global pandemic and with every human being on the planet affected in some way or another by what is happening, the team at LACE Partners wanted to reflect with you on what we see as the impact on HR teams not only in the UK, but globally.
We’re observing a number of different reactions to the current crisis, but that a feeling of shock is common to all. Senior HR professionals that we speak to. But as a team we wanted to reach out to everybody we know to offer our voice and support to those that need it. One of our values that we pride ourselves on is that we care, a value that we apply to our colleagues, but also our friends, partners and clients in the HR industry. We take that seriously at LACE Partners and one of our first actions this week was to reach out to HR Directors, teams, people we know, to tell them that we are there and if they want to pick up the phone and talk to us, ask for advice, or even just take stock, we want to listen and help where we can.
There are executive teams of all shapes and sizes – ours too – spending the majority of their time working on how best to navigate the uncertain times ahead. Clearly those teams will be looking for HR Directors and Heads of Departments to guide them on how to manage the people impacts of the current crisis, to understand the options available to them and to translate government guidelines and support into people implications for their business.
To this end, over the next few weeks we’ll be putting out as much information across as many mediums as possible to offer our support to HR teams everywhere.
We’ll be looking to run free webinars, host podcasts, deliver insight here on our blog webpage, as well as run short, sharp video interviews. We’ll be talking to former HRDs on their experiences of crisis management following shocks and during times of slow economic growth or even recession; we’ll be talking about what types of policies and procedures teams need to have in place to help them guide their people through the Covid-19 pandemic; we’ll be providing tips and guidance on how HR teams can identify capability gaps in their business, as well as discussing the impact of changing work patterns and how businesses can ensure they get the right communications strategy right internally to make sure their people are briefed throughout this period of global crisis.
HR in crisis – a 12 point plan
The first webinar we’ll be holding will be next Thursday, 2nd April at 2.30pm. We’ll be talking about HR in crisis – a 12 point plan and asking questions such as:
- What people actions do you need to take to manage the crisis now?
- What do you need to do to sustain your workforce during this period of crisis?
- What do you need to think of to thrive when coming out of the crisis?
There are many questions that will inevitably arise over the coming weeks and months but we want to be able to help you to understand some that we are hearing with this webinar.
You can register to attend the webinar here.
For us this is about helping each other, so please do reach out to us for advice or join us on one of our webinars and if you have specific topics that you would like us to ‘deep dive’ into, that’s exactly what we’ll do.
Support tools for you to access
We’ll release more information over the coming days and weeks about upcoming activities and tools we’ll make available for you to listen to, watch or read. In the meantime, stay safe and stay strong. We must come together as a community and support one another.
We’ve just set up a dedicated webpage which we will populate with free resources that you can access to help you. For more information visit it here.
